We have been one of the last remaining myths alive. They say a lot in these occasions but in this case is true. It seems hard to think of another iconic figure of his caliber right now. In this blog I take ground balls out when I talk about Judy Garland or Barbra Streisand as gay icons in particular because they have not worked specifically on gay and no cause is rather the result of gay camp mentality of that era. Liz Taylor is also often claimed as a gay icon and in this case does not anger me so much since apart from its aesthetic and mythic aura has also been very active in campaigns against AIDS and has been friends with many gays of that era as divine Montgomery Clift and Rock Hudson.
